The NOLA (National Outdoor Learning Award) is a nationally recognised framework that celebrates learning, growth and personal development through meaningful time outdoors.

At Taller Than Trees, the NOLA is delivered through a series of structured, hands-on sessions in a woodland setting. Participants are guided to develop practical outdoor skills such as fire lighting, shelter building, tool use, foraging and navigation, while being supported to grow in confidence, resilience and independence.

The award places equal value on skills, experience and reflection. Learners are encouraged to recognise their own progress, work collaboratively, solve problems and build a deeper connection with the natural world at a pace that suits them.

The award is suitable for people of all abilities. Completion of the programme is recognised with certification, marking both personal achievement and time invested in outdoor learning.
